Now that we’re entering the colder months and the holidays are around the corner, our health may need some extra love and attention. One way that I prepare for things like seasonal depression, stress or lack of sleep is by building a nighttime intimate care routine, specifically one that prioritizes orgasms and quality sleep.
Research shows that having more orgasms improves our quality of sleep. When our bodies experience orgasm, we release a cocktail of feel-good and sleep-inducing hormones like oxytocin and melatonin. According to experts, about 50% of people with vulvas and people with penises experience better quality of sleep after masturbating. Thus, as you create a fall nighttime intimate care routine, or borrow ours below, be sure to add in some time for self-pleasure as well.
Schedule a bath.
First, I like to treat myself to a bath. Whether you live with housemates or family members, let them know that you will be spending a pre-scheduled amount of time in the tub. This allows you to get excited for this blocked-out occasion dedicated just to you. I level up my baths with Foria’s Bath Salts with CBD and Lavender.
